Maroubra Life Saving Club, Maroubra Beach

The Maroubra Surf Lifesaving Club is located at 5R Marine Parade, Maroubra NSW 2035. The club is located right on the beach at the main promenade. In 1906, Maroubra boasted 2 surf lifesaving clubs, one at the north end and another at the south end.

Maroubra was a founding member of the Surf Lifesaving Association of Australia. 1932 saw the laying of the foundation stone and the club became a permanent institution in Maroubra.

In 2021, Maroubra Surf Lifesaving Association completed 115 years of patrolling Maroubra beach. Another long time local club.

The club currently runs the Maroubra nippers for youngsters wanting to learn surf lifesaving skills and compete in local and state competitions. Children learn surf safety and how to navigate and understand the surf and its dangers.

The surf club also runs a range of surf sports where locals have competed at local, state and national levels successfully over the years. Maroubra Surf Lifesaving Club encourages people to join their surf lifesaving team and they offer the Bronze medallion and Surf Rescue Certificate for those wanting to volunteer with the club. They offer sports including surf rowing and iron man and women competitions. Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club has been represented successfully at many surf lifesaving competitions since they first began in Australia.
